Sea Breezes and daily lightning storm forecasting.
-Weathervine was born out of watching and chasing thunderstorms in
Florida. We spend a large amount of time during the year forecasting and
chasing severe, general and tropical storms.
Playing the east and west coast sea breeze boundary is something we
have become very good at and know just where a few sweet spots setup
daily during the thunderstorm season. The northern Florida Everglades
north to just south of Orlando is our main playground for viewing storms.
This area is very flat with little tree's, so it makes for excellent viewing of
storms as if in the Plains states.
Lake Okeechobee sits in the middle of this area helping to put out more
surface boundaries to interact with the coastal boundaries helping to
produce some impressive lightning events, and short-live severe storms.
We also work directly with the National Weather Service in Melbourne and
Miami during severe weather events helping to report ongoing severe
weather.
Our video can also be seen a few times a week on The Weather Channel
as we shoot daily heavy storm and morning Orlando and Tampa video for
their programming.
