Gordon became a category one hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson
Hurricane Scale over the eastern Gulf of Mexico, but eventually made
landfall in the Florida Big Bend area as a weakening tropical storm near
Cedar Key, Florida.
Chris and Jeff waited along the side of the road with police as Gordon
made landfall.
Thanks to Chris Collura for sharing some photo's of our chase
encounter with Hurricane Gordon 2000. Jeff Gammons became very ill
after this chase and most of the footage was lost while he under went
open Heart Surgery. Maybe one day Jeff will come across the tapes...
